Notes: | The most popular cars on my list are; Austin Mini & Morris Mini, Ford Escort, BMC 1100/1300, Ford Cortina, Austin Metro, Ford Fiesta, Nissan Sunny, Vauxhall Astra, Austin Allegro, Citroen Saxo, VW Golf, Triumph Herald, Peugeot 106/205, Ford Anglia, Hillman Imp, Ford Orion, Nissan Micra, Ford Sierra, Vauxhall Chevette, Nissan Cherry, Austin Maxi, Vauxhall Nova, Hillman Avenger, Ford Capri & Talbot Sunbeam. |
Notes: | This Allegro was in pristine condition when purchased by my dad. He bought it as a second car for the family in Aug 1984. Although it was 8 years old, it had only covered 10,976 miles. I drove it until Sept 1985 when my sister passed her Driving Test, and it was given to her. She used for the next 2 years until she bought a Silver Mk III Ford Escort 1.3 L instead. Last seen parked in Merryoak, Southampton in June 1988. Despite 3 years ownership, this is our only photograph of the car. |
Fate: | The Allegro was sold privately to a chap in Swanwick, Southampton for £595. I believe it was used / driven by his sons for the next few years. I think it last changed hands in May 1993. |
Modifications: | A radio was fitted on 9 March 1978. |
