Fate Sold to my ex-boss, who flew down from London to Cornwall to collect it.
Notes I bought this one as I needed to commute fortnightly to and from London from Cornwall and I was heartily sick of the debacle known as public transport (i.e. the train). So, I found the car (I was specifically looking for a Mondeo Turbo Diesel saloon) at a a place called Barwell Garage, near Chessington in Surrey. Paid my folding and started using it. It was MOT'd for a year and had the cambelt changed and was supposed to have had a full service included, which wasn't, so I forked out another £300 to have it fully serviced and a driveshaft replaced. Apart from that, absolutely nothing went wrong on it, it was a very good car to drive, comfortable for the trip to and from London and it would use less than 1/3 of a tank to get to London (about £20). Another bonus was air-con, which was a god send at times. It had the optional 12 spoke alloys and looked very nice when it was all clean and gleaminmg in the sun. It also had a very useful Nokia hands free kit, which my phone fitted when I bought it! In the end, the commute to and from London was too much for me and I found a more local job, so I had no further need for the Mondeo as I was being allocated a company car...
Modifications I added an Alpine 6-CD multichanger - it was definitely required for the long distances - the good thing was that the Ford 5000RDS stereo came with multichanger capability anyway, so I only had to buy the multichanger and plug it via an adapter unit straight into the head unit!
