If you like the program, you might like to make a small donation:

Where To See Steam is a comprehensive directory of UK and Irish Steam Railways.
It contains details of over 200 companies, with a wealth of information about the facilities and stock at each one.

The software uses the standard Microsoft Windows interface to let you set up multiple windows which are 'remembered' between sessions. The program is easy to use and comes with a Help system and Tour.
Every Railway in the database has a wealth of information, which you can view in a re sizeable tabbed window like this. Here we see the main name and address details.
On another tab are details of Facilities available at the venue.
And on another you may see various photos of exhibits, and timetables.
The railway may well have a working line, in which case you can view details of individual stations along the route.
Included in the program is a handy diary, in which you can record any Train related (or indeed any other) activities. You can set up reminders, and include pictures with an entry.
You can search for railways either very simply, or in a very detailed way. You can look for railways with given features, say Disabled Access, in a certain geographic area, and so on.
You can also do searches on the Journeys available at the Railways, you could search for a given price, and/or whether food is available along the way.
Alternatively you could simply search an area by clicking on one of the maps.
Included is a database of over 3,000 pieces of rolling stock, some with pictures. There are many search options available, and the results can be cross- referenced back to the Railway that owns them.
The software comes on a single CD-ROM. It should run on any Windows operating system from 95 onwards, and on a 486 processor (if you can recall such a thing!) or above. Recommended minimum screen resolution is 800x600 at 256 colours. This will NOT run on Macs, sorry.

Where To See Steam should install easily on your PC. Any problems and e-mail support will be available. There is no registration procedure and the CD is not subsequently required in the drive unless you opt for the Minimal installation. If for any reason the software is not satisfactory XLEdev will refund the cost, which is just £5, post free in the UK. E-mail for details of how to order, click here.
