The DriveArchive web site
opened in June of 2002. The intention
of the site has always been to
provide a means for owners to
track the history and fate of
their treasured vehicles, and
to have a bit of fun.
The site has been fairly successful,
and has attracted thousands of
registered contributors, and tens of thousands
of vehicle records. However it
would be only fair to admit that
the site has not exploded in a
FriendsReunited sort of way, and
that clearly the odds of anyone
finding the history of a vehicle
is still quite slim. As more data
is added, of course, the better
the chances get.
The owner of DriveArchive (that would be me)
has therefore considered that
charging for using the site would
currently not be appropriate.
I have attempted to pay the hosting
costs from a few un-intrusive
affiliate schemes, however these
have not yielded much at all,
sadly.
If the site is to survive, the
modest hosting costs must be paid
somehow, and therefore I would
ask that if you have enjoyed or
gained some benefit from using
DriveArchive, that you
would donate a small amount to
keep it going. It would be greatly
appreciated.
Any donation now, no matter how
small, would gain you life membership
to the site - should it one day
become a subscription site.
